The UK government plan to spend £250 million on electric vehicle (EV) incentives. This means dishing out up to £5000 of taxpayers’ money for every EV in an effort to persuade people to buy them. They would be better advised to spend a fraction of the total encouraging manufacturers to make the vehicles more desirable in the first place. Ask yourself this. Would you want to be seen driving something that looks like the GWIZ-HV? When GREEN = UGLY, it’s going to take more than a discount to get consumers to part with their hard-earned cash.
